GoodWeave 2011 Rug Raffle

Thanks for your interest in GoodWeave’s 10th annual raffle! Unfortunately, ticket sales have ended so that we can prepare to draw the winning ticket.

Become a fan of GoodWeave on Facebook to find out who won!

Proceeds from the raffle support GoodWeave’s programs—programs that transform the life of kids like Nirmala, who was rescued earlier this summer.

Nirmala at school

At age 10, Nirmala worked as a domestic servant in an abusive household for a mere five dollars a month.  Eventually her father brought her home, but that freedom was short-lived. Nirmala was then sold to a Kathmandu carpet factory where she weaved almost continuously and again suffered beatings.

On June 7th, GoodWeave inspectors found 12-year-old Nirmala, and this time, she was really free. Today, she calls the GoodWeave center home and attends school for the first time in her life.

While it’s too late to purchase a raffle ticket, it’s never too late to help kids like Nirmala by donating to GoodWeave. Click here for other ways you can help support GoodWeave’s work to end child labor in the rug industry.
